Jennie Scott
Born Kingston-upon Thames UK and emigrated to Australia in 1964, lived in Cairns until 1976. Then traveled to Africa and spent 10 months working and painting in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. Here several of her pen and ink drawings were purchased, which were then produced in a print and sold through out the park.
Jennie had several successful exhibitions, in Johannesburg and Salisbury (now Harare). Jennie Arrived back in the UK 1982, where she had three more exhibitions with her African animals and horses. Jennie attracted the attention of a large printing company called Drayco Print Consultants, they took 12 of her horse paintings and turned them into cards and framed pictures.
In 1997 she studied for a National Higher Diploma in ceramics and glass at Plymouth University in UK. Jennie sold many of her sculptures to the USA and private collections in the UK and Saudi Arabia.
Jennie returned to Cairns in 1999 and joined the local art society. Where she has won many awards for her work. Jennie has had two very successful exhibitions at Paradise Palms Cairns, Longreach Qld, along with a successful one at gallery 53 in May 2004.
