Passion and Precision
6 June - 28 JunePassion & Precision is all about diversity. In fact, this exhibition runs the gamut from detailed pen & ink works to large abstracts and figurative pieces, from monochrome pieces to vibrant colour. The works themselves vary in size from smaller framed pieces to large canvasses. The subject matter is equally varied, the pen & ink works by Les feature Birds, Insects and Sea life as well as a Moorish gecko and a green tree frog. Emmas large colourful canvasses feature the feminine form in varied surroundings influenced by the art deco era, while Les canvasses are predominantly abstract in nature.
We like to think there is something here for everyone.
For Les, making the transition from highly detailed Monochrome Pen & Ink works to large and loose abstract colour canvases, was made much easier under Emmas watchful eye. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to share my first Gallery 53 exhibition with such a gifted artist teacher.
For Emma, this is a passion that has spanned 28 years. The learning never stops.
