Deb Gillett
Deb Gillet is a long-time resident of North Queensland. She works in acrylics, pastel paintings, clay sculpture and since 2003 in bronze. She is endlessly inspired an obsessed with sensual beauty, emotion and the sheer joy of living.
Deb's particular passion is motion and emotion, her sculpture and expressionistic paintings reflecting her own unapologetic and forthright attitude to life. Her pace of work is frenetic and the body of work created since she began seriously pursuing art in 1994 in the thousands. Her unique talent lies in bringing genuine character and expression to the wonderfully alive pieces she creates. For many years she has enjoyed the privilege of being among the best selling artists at the North Queensland galleries presenting her works, which are eagerly anticipated and lovingly collected worldwide.
Debbie is happily married to her best friend and enjoys the company of her two grown children, who know better than to ask "what's for dinner" when she's working. She rarely does any housework, instead making time for Art, her greatest love.
