Christine Eyres
Christine Eyres has been working as an artist for over 20 years. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1984 at Curtin University in Western Australia, and went on to complete a Graduate Diploma majoring in Australian Cultural Studies. Currently Christine is completing a Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts with James Cook University. Her work has been exhibited widely in Australia and the USA.
Working mainly in the medium of oil paint, Christine has developed her own distinctive style, having a preference for working in layers of both paint and meaning. Currently Christine is exploring, through her art work, her Scottish heritage and her family’s migration to Australia.
Christine has an ongoing interest in colour and spent two years as the Australian Principal of the Michael Wilcox School of Colour. She works from her Cairns studio Art Attack, and runs workshops in Colour Theory, Life Drawing and Painting in Cairns and Port Douglas.
